Description
Cupping Therapy, also known as Hijama, is an ancient healing technique used across many cultures and is now embraced in integrative wellness. In this therapy, specialized cups are applied to targeted areas of the body to create suction, which draws stagnant blood, toxins, and tension to the surface for natural release and healing.
There are two main types:
- Dry Cupping – uses suction only to stimulate blood flow
- Wet Cupping (optional) – involves slight incisions to release impure blood (performed only under strict hygienic, licensed conditions)
Benefits:
- Improves blood circulation, lymphatic flow, and energy movement
- Relieves muscle stiffness, joint pain, and backaches
- Detoxifies the body and supports immune function
- Reduces fatigue, inflammation, and migraines
- Promotes overall balance and wellness
Cupping is especially beneficial for athletes, individuals with chronic pain, or those experiencing stress-induced tension. When combined with Ayurvedic therapies like Abhyanga or Swedana, it enhances both detox and rejuvenation outcomes.
