Description
Thalapothichil, also known as Shiro Lepa, is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment involving the application of a medicated herbal paste to the entire scalp. The head is then gently wrapped in a cloth or banana leaf, allowing the herbs to penetrate deeply and deliver cooling, calming, and nourishing effects.
This therapy is especially beneficial for:
- Relieving stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue
- Treating insomnia, mood swings, and headaches
- Reducing excess body heat and balancing Pitta dosha
- Nourishing the scalp and strengthening hair roots
- Supporting memory, concentration, and emotional balance
How It Works:
A freshly prepared paste of herbs such as Brahmi, Amalaki, Musta, and Sandalwood is applied to the scalp after a light head massage. The paste is left on for a specific duration to allow absorption, followed by a gentle wash with herbal water.
Thalapothichil is ideal for people under high mental stress, hormonal imbalances, or seeking deep relaxation and mental detox. It’s also an excellent treatment for children with hyperactivity or difficulty focusing.
